You'll see not only the dilapidated remains and mysterious places up close, but also impressive aerial footage of the abandoned amusement park in Norg, while I share the hidden history of De Vluchtheuvel amusement park – from its opening to its closure in 2006. 🏚️ The history of De Vluchtheuvel De Vluchtheuvel amusement park in Norg began in the 1960s as a modest children's zoo. Later, attractions were added, and it slowly grew into a regional amusement park. One of its most striking attractions was Onderwaterwereld, a unique dark ride similar to "Onderwaterland" in Slagharen, also known as Ocean of Darkness and Nautilus. Despite expansions – including a swimming pool – the park never really became profitable. After several changes of ownership, the park finally closed its doors for good in 2006. In 2007, entrepreneur Henny van der Most took over the park. He had almost all the attractions removed, except for the iconic Underwater World. There were plans to transform the site into an artists' village, but these never materialized. In 2008, the site was squatted, and in 2010, the old restaurant building burned down. It wasn't until 2016 that most of the ruins were cleared. What remains is a dilapidated area, slowly being swallowed up by nature – an ideal place for urban explorers. 🚶 Urban Exploration and Drone Footage In this video, I don't just go on an urban exploration adventure through the abandoned amusement park on foot.
