¿Qué les espera en Costa Rica a los deportados por Estados Unidos?
Costa Rica, one of the United States' main allies in Central America, signed an agreement with the Trump administration to receive up to 25 deportees per week. There, they will be under temporary immigration status and can choose to return to their country of origin, leave Costa Rica, or apply for asylum. However, analysts criticize the process, arguing that migrants' rights could be violated. Last year, Costa Rica received approximately 200 deportees from third countries, such as Afghanistan and Iran, some of whom were persecuted in their home countries. Details on how the new deportations will be carried out are not yet available.
