Wakura Onsen in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, suffered extensive damage from the Noto Peninsula earthquake. Founded in 1804, Biwanso, the oldest inn in Wakura Onsen, allowed us to film inside the inn three days after the earthquake. The building sustained significant damage, splitting in two at the connecting section. It was New Year's when the earthquake struck, and all rooms were fully booked. Despite a tsunami warning, the inn's proprietress and staff frantically evacuated guests to higher ground, preventing any injuries. Will the inn be able to rebuild? And what is most needed now?
