In this lesson I break down a simple construction method that makes drawing heads way easier to control. Instead of guessing at features, we start with the skull, find the major planes, and build the face directly on top of that structure. This is about constructing a head, not decorating one. We cover the overall cranial mass, eye sockets, cheekbone rhythms, jaw structure, and how to use negative shapes to check symmetry. I also show how to place the nose, eyes, mouth, and ears using clear landmarks, and how the skull shifts when viewed from different angles.
