One of the main selling points of Metroid Dread was delivering on the title itself; dread. And the game delivered, with tense, frenetic gameplay mixed with daunting enemies and the fear of the unknown making you try your best to prepare for what's in the next room. The main theme of the game, which is mainly used for the early part of the game and Artaria, is the best at conveying the atmosphere of the game. With a simple, memorable three note motif that rings throughout each track, coupled with atmospheric ambience and electronic work, help set the mood perfectly without overdramatic instrumentation.
