Drawing on the legacy of the Enlightenment, Antoine Lilti (a historian specializing in the Enlightenment from the 18th century to the present) and Michaël Foessel (a philosopher specializing in Kant who works on the themes of democracy, nationalism, and cosmopolitanism) offer a contemporary reading of the different ways of conceiving universalism in diverse cultural and political contexts.
