Modeh Ani Prayer (Male)

The Modeh Ani prayer is a traditional Jewish prayer recited upon waking in the morning. It expresses gratitude to God for returning one's soul after sleep. The text of the prayer is: "Modeh ani l’fanecha, melech chai v’kayam, shehechezarta bi nishmati b’chemla, raba emunatecha." This translates to: "I thank You, living and enduring King, for You have graciously returned my soul within me. Great is Your faithfulness" This is the baseline meaning for the passage in Lamentations: God’s kindnesses never cease; indeed, His mercies never fail! They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. It is starting the day with acknowledgment that breath comes from Hashem and that by giving us breath every morning we are invited to give tha breath meaning, elevate life, and pour ourselves into our day with brave intention. The art of Awakening untapped potential within, draw it out of us as natural as we breathe, and let that expression flow with purpose and meaning. In this prayer is also the idea that by retuning our soul breath to us in the morning upon awakeing, God is reassuring us that He has planed and woven our very existence in this world into the ystery of His own making, and our breath is the evidence that our participation in this life, this day, in this time, is essential to what He planned for this day specifically. He is trusting us to align our breath to this cause--in the simple and in the mundane.
