Male lion Announces Presence in Company of Lioness Kruger National Park

Imbali male lion announcing his presence in the company of Mantimahle lioness Kruger National Park South Africa Over the last few years the Mantimahle/Kruger tablets pride has seen several coalitions trying to take over but still don’t seem to have an established coalition in charge. Just in the last year we have found them regularly with 3 different coalitions which includes the 3 imbali males, the 3 Mazithi/Twhokwane males, 2 fourways and Torchwood males. While it’s been a while since we’ve seen the 2 fourways males and Torchwood male that far south they initially looked to be the males in charge but fathering cubs with Mazithi pride last year they spending most of their time between the Mazithi and Leeupan pride and appearing to give up the Mantimahle pride in the process. This has given the Imbali males and Mazithi/Tshokwane males the opportunity to take over. It still remains unclear who the pride males are. I tend to lean more towards the Imbali males but this month alone we’ve seen both sets of males in the company of the pride. One of the lionesses appears to be pregnant or recently given birth but one can only wonder who the fathers are. Hopefully one of the coalitions will settle and bring stability to the Mantimahle/Kruger tablets pride like the 5 Mantimahle males did previously.
