The Sound of Rain and Hydrangeas In the pouring rain, I visited Izasumi Shrine, the guardian deity of Aizu. Izasumi Shrine boasts a history of over 2,000 years. It was destroyed by fire in 2008 and now features a temporary shrine building. However, stepping inside the shrine grounds makes you feel like you're in another world. You can really feel the deep history and the faith, land, and feelings that people have continued to protect. The hydrangeas, surrounded by the sound of rain, soothed me and provided a moment of solace. I encourage everyone to visit Izasumi Shrine in Takada, Aizu Misato Town, Fukushima Prefecture.
