Virtual walking tour along the Spiritual Variant of the Camino Portuguese

In total, the Spiritual Variant is 46 miles and generally takes three days to complete from Pontevedra to Padrón. The Spiritual Variant is a bit longer than the Central Route which is 24.8 miles or two days walking. The actual walking distance on both routes is pretty much the same because on the Spiritual route, the walking is 28.5 miles and the other 17.4 miles are by boat. It's a beautiful and contemplative journey through forests and charming small towns, and includes a five mile segment along a riverside path that is truly a magical experience. Additionally, there are fewer pilgrims on this route compared to the main Camino route. The boat ride up the Ulla River on the third day is of great importance as legend states, this is where the beheaded body of St. James' journey continued in a stone boat to Iria Flavia, modern day Pontecesures. When you reach Padrón, don't forget to get your Pedronia.
