Cerdd dant or Canu Penillion (verse singing). A Welsh art/practice consists of poetry sung as a counter-melody (gosodiad) to the accompaniment of a harp tune (cainc). This music, known as Cerdd Dant, the music of string, belongs to the ancient bardic traditions of Wales
