Atrium: At Home feat. Saapato

Saapato is the music project of upstate New York–based sound artist Brendan Principato. Toward the end of 2025, just after we announced Atrium's existence, Brendan was part of a group of 'test drive' artists organized by the ambient music cooperative Atmospheric Music Alliance. His connection to our pentagonal synth was immediate, and it was humbling for us to see just how quickly Atrium fit into & extended his mental model of music-making. In early 2026, Brendan became (to the best of our knowledge) the first artist to tour with Atrium as 'the heart of the machine'. Brendan also caretakes Will O' Wisp Farm in Craryville, NY with his partner Ari Rinaldo. Their farm is the site of Atmospheric Music Alliance's great big pond series, which made it the perfect backdrop for a visit from Dani Derks & Zoe Al Tawati. Across a springtime afternoon, Brendan regaled us with a couple of beautifully-improvised sets, fantastic reflections on his time spent with Atrium, and a farm tour which inspired the interstitial video portraits peppered throughout this video.
