Scott Moe: Farmer, Premier, Energy Champion, Trudeau Foe

Premier Scott Moe joins Christy Clark for an animated interview about how he has helped transform Saskatchewan into an economic powerhouse at a time when other provinces are struggling. Like his parents, Moe was a farmer but wasn’t interested in politics until he got involved with boosting businesses in his hometown. After becoming a Saskatchewan Party MLA in 2011, Moe served as a cabinet minister in Brad Wall’s government where he built a reputation as a champion of energy and resource development. He got into some big battles with former prime minister Justin Trudeau over it, but sees current PM Mark Carney as more collaborative. Moe has been laser-focused on developing Saskatchewan’s resources and exporting them around the world but has also faced western alienation in his own province as separatism dominates the agenda in neighbouring Alberta.
