Ford Explorer - DOOR ENTRY KEYPAD REMOVAL / REPLACEMENT (2011 - 2019)

Step-by-step guide on how to replace / remove / install left driver door entry keypad trim molding on fifth generation of Ford Explorer SUV ( 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | XL | XLT | LIMITED | SPORT | 3.5L | ECOBOOST ). Replacing the door entry keypad is quite a bit of project. You will have to remove the inner door panel to be able to disconnect keypad's power cord. Side molding keypad is being held by double sided tape so use a scalpel to cut the wire and separate side panel from the door. Before installing new keypad make sure to clean old tape and debris from the door. Now open the door and start removing the door panel. You will have three10mm screws hidden behind the covers. Then you will have two 7mm screws on the bottom of the door panel. Now pop out the door panel and lift it up. Disconnect door handle and all electrical connectors from the door panel. Remove the water shield to gain access to the keypad's electrical connector. Disconnect the connector and pull the wiring out. Now everything is ready to install new side door entry keypad.
