In the 17th century, the use of Pointers became common for subsequent crossbreeding. Prince Albrecht, co-founder of the Vienna Kennel Club, was also one of the personalities who participated in the process. Until the 1800s, the German Pointer (as it is also known) was considered a stocky animal, which led to crossbreeding with English Pointers in the search for lighter, more athletic animals with strong musculature. These are considered exceptional scent hounds, a dog that can be used in various types of hunting, both feathered and furred game. A skilled pointer, good retriever, and fearless in rivers or lakes. Also known as Kurzhaar, its origin is linked to Spanish pointers that were supposedly mated with hound-type dogs (like the ancestors of the Bloodhound).
