Get rid of your side stand switch on your ADV bike
It's not illegal but this is one "safety" item that doesn't make us safer. Whether you call it a side stand switch, a safety switch or an interlock the same problem exists. This device does not belong on a motorcycle that is intended to be ridden off-road using proper offroad riding technique. There are many situations where it not only inhibits your options as a rider but it can become a danger in an environment it was never intended for. Side stand interlocks were designed for street bikes not dirt bikes. If you only ride on roads and always mount from the left then it's ok but not for real adventure riders. In this video I show you how to disable the side stand interlock on a Yamaha Tenere 700 but also discuss my BMW R1200GS, Ducati DesertX and former KTM 890 Adventure and how I did the bypass on those bikes too.
