In this video, we take a closer look at the historic Vellore Fort. Surrounded by a massive moat (Agazhi) once said to be filled with alligators, the fort had only one entrance — a strong wooden drawbridge (Thookku Palam) with chains. The fort has witnessed the rule of the Nayaks, Marathas, and later the British. It also played a key role during the Vellore Sepoy Mutiny of 1806.
