Yin Yoga | Breath & Energy - Guided Upper Body Focus (90 mins)
This 90 minute functional yin yoga practice focuses on breath and energetics, this time for the upper body. We use familiar postures but shift our focus to the breath and the energetic response. There is energy in the body. For those who think of their practice as more physical, think of this energy as piezo electricity created through the stress of a posture. For those who enjoy exploring the subtle body, that energy has an intelligence often referred to as chi, prana or life force. However we practice we can learn to detect, increase and move that energy. In this practice we will adopt a posture with a specific target area and then Andrew will guide you to use the breath in three ways. First, to relax the target area allowing stress in the connective tissue to create a first level of energy Second, we will use the breath to draw and concentrate more energy into the target area Finally, we will use the breath to start moving that energy As the practitioner, you can decide whether to experience this in the physical or the subtle body.
