Thousands of doctors, nurses resign annually
Nearly 6 000 doctors and nurses resign from government hospitals each year — many unwilling to work in rural areas or leaving the country altogether. South African Medical Association vice chairperson Dr Zanele Bikitsha remarks on the urgent need to retain skilled health professionals and touches on how NHI will affect them.
