In an interview with Mañanas Blu, Angie Rodríguez, current director of the Adaptation Fund and former director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (DAPRE), spoke about the internal tensions within Gustavo Petro's government, her mental health, and the reasons that fractured her relationship with the president. Rodríguez, who is currently on medical leave, denounced being the target of stigmatization by the president due to her diagnosis of depression and anxiety. Rodríguez emphatically rejected President Petro's comments, in which he suggested that her psychiatric problems disqualified her from holding office. "These statements by the president are unfortunate and stigmatizing, and I strongly condemn them as a woman, because they do not disqualify me professionally," the official stated. According to her account, the diagnosis of depression and anxiety arose in November 2025 due to the extreme situations she experienced within the government, directly pointing to the president: "I believe he is my greatest tormentor." Despite his condition, Rodríguez emphasized that in December he received top honors for his performance and maintained an outstanding academic average in his doctoral studies, contradicting the narrative of incompetence suggested by the Presidential Palace. "His story doesn't match his actions," he noted, recalling that after learning of his diagnosis, the president even assigned him more responsibilities, such as managing the Adaptation Fund.
