NZ Tour: Christchurch to Franz Josef Feb 2026

During February 2026, we travelled from Scotland to tour New Zealand. We started on the South Island, taking the Tranzalpine Express from Christchurch to Greymouth, where we picked up our hire car. Over the next two weeks, we visited Franz Josef, Queenstown, Mount Cook, Christchurch, Picton, then took the ferry to the North Island, visiting Wellington, Rotorua, Whitianga, and finished in Auckland City. Part 1 covers the Tranzalpine Express to Greymouth and the drive to Franz Josef, stopping off at the Hokitika Gorge on the way.
